It really was :) And I was so happy I was able to get some pictures of a peacock with it's tail fanned out!

Such gorgeous pics! Seeing the Green-winged Macaws made me a little sad, for I really miss Hawkeye. He was a Green-winged Macaw that my Mom rescued. When she moved, she asked if I wanted to take him. I would of in a heart beat if I was not living in a one bedroom apartment. Hawkeye's cage is so big, that I could stand in it, stretch my arms out, and still not touch the sides. Anytime I was sad, Hawkeye would regurgitate a peanut from his crop to try and cheer me up. I really miss him...;_;

I see you also took a picture of a male Eclectus, in my opinion the females are prettier:

It is awesome that you got to see and photograph some birds of prey too...:3

Awww, Hawkeye sounded like such a sweetie ;o; It's a shame you couldn't take him.
The centre has three Green-Winged Macaws. They have a sister and a brother, named Bonnie and Alfie, who are trained for free-flying during their aerial shows. Then they have Ruby, who's used more to show off the parrots intelligence, so she knows lots of neat little tricks.

Oh gosh, the females colours are very vibrant!

Hawkeye really was a sweetie, he came from a not so nice home. The people were desperate for money, so my Mom and Grandfather bought Hawkeye. They didn't really buy him to help the people, but to save his life. His original names was "Pretty Boy" and when we got him, Hawkeye ate two bowls worth of food he was so hungry! I'll never forget the day Hawkeye tried out his name for the first time. He kept saying it over and over again, as if he was "trying it on for size." The more he said it, you could here the approval of Hawkeye's new name in his voice...:3

Green-winged Macaws are indeed very intelligent! Then again, what animal isn't smart?!

It is surprising how much more colorful the females are compared to the males! :D
