Why do y'all use code names for people you write about in your blog?

oh, and if I have online buddies I don't know in real life, they can't identify me or stalk me until I trust them enough to tell them who I am.

So I could use real names for my children, who don't have online identities...

Totally up to you. I don't because I want to protect his identity and privacy. I figure the less trace-able information about him that I put out there, the less likely someone will put it all together when he's old enough to have an online identity (or whatever people are receiving through there implants in 2024).
