no, I got it on the cheap (a complete build), so it's what they had left: Maroon. I really don't like Maroon, but I'll peel off all the stickers, and rock it anyway, and someday once the paints a bit chipped and destroy the AlexRims it comes with I'll get a pair of blood red Deep V's and powdercoat the frame matte black and rock a Red and Black bicycle.
I'd take maroon over the red I have now. It's bright fucking red and I just don't like it. It's an aggressive color that doesn't speak to me at all, but it was the only one available in mini size for my mini legs.
I would love to have a bright green bicycle with white, black, or maybe even orange rims.
I can't really explain why I love it so much, but I do. I'm riding a death machine with no brakes and a suicide hub (the cog is laced onto something it shouldn't be and skidstopping will eventually cause it to unlace), but holy shit is it fun.
speaking of that death machine, I'm fixin' to ride it downtown to deliver goodies to food for thought and take pictures of all my studio work this term.
I remember that, I loved it. I think the culture around fixed gear bicycles is stupid as fuck. I identify completely outside of it.
ok, well I heard someone say "Fixies are for fucking hipsters and lesbians," and I was thinking: "Yeah!" Although I guess I'm a hybrid of both and more and less.
you can totally ride my bike when it gets here. It will be Fun.
whats wrong with fixies? other than trying to ride up huge hills, which is pretty miserable (or for that matter ride down them).
I do most of my riding downtown to school and back, so something with super tight control and handling is a must. I'll have brakes on the steamroller, so It's less death-wish riding.

Are you getting cream or black? Huhuhuhuhuhuh?!?!
Whatevs, people always make fun of my fixie, but it offers me so much control I don't think I could go back to freewheel even if I wanted.
