“I’m back, Saga.”

No response.

“Saga?” Tora looked around the house, wondering if Saga had gotten curious enough to start looking for something that would interest him more than painting. Saga was a very curious mind in Tora’s eyes. There was so much potential in him, even just by looking him in the eyes it was obvious. Hearing his melodious voice. It was just that simple.

Tora ended his search quickly back in Saga’s new room, thinking that if there had been no response, then Saga was probably bored or asleep. At the sight of seeing Saga covered in red, Tora panicked, his eyes widening quickly. But as he got closer to Saga, he noticed that it looked too dry to be blood and the smell of paint was still pretty strong.

That was a relief. He looked down at the sleeping body and kicked it awkwardly with his foot, trying to jerk him awake. Saga, being the heavy sleeper he was only positioned himself differently, moaning a few words that Tora couldn’t make out.

“Ey, Saga…” Tora kicked the body a little harder, but that was the most he could do. He was scared to cause too much harm to him. At least for right now. He didn’t want the other to suffer. Although Tora’s plan wasn’t exactly going to allow Saga to get harmed, it was not fool-proof and if something did happen to Saga, Tora would be the blame.

He didn’t notice himself kneeling down next to the body as he stared into the face bliss and innocence. Saga’s left hand was cushioning his head, while his right was loosely sitting right besides it. Saga looked tired despite the fact that he had slept plenty that night. Why was he so tired?

The question then made Tora look up at the walls and see the drawings that the other had made. They were nothing special, not better than a 5-year-old’s painting at least. The wall was filled with purple blobs, orange blobs and red splashes. The red seemed more violently spread out than it should have been.

Tora’s eyes then looked back down at Saga. He wasn’t the innocent guy Tora thought he might be. He knew about wars, blood, gore, and death as much the next person. Everyone had experienced it, but Saga seemed to have been more affected than anyone else Tora had seen.

Saga’s innocence was never there. That’s when it hit him. If he continued to pretend that Saga was incapable of doing things and feeling the emotions that humans were supposed to be feeling in the first place, Saga was going to lose himself in a fantasy world. He wasn’t going to protect this guy. He wasn’t going to expose him to danger (other than the little “mark” that would start up his plans), but he wasn’t going to kill him either.

Just let him handle his problems.

“Ey, you!” Tora curled his fingers around Saga’s hair and yanked his hair upwards, causing Saga to squeal and shake.

“Leave me alone!” He shouted, covering his eyes and trying to reposition himself for sleep. Boy, this guy could really sleep.

“I need to teach you some things, Saga.” Tora muttered, still pulling at Saga’s brown locks.

“I don’t want to learn.” Saga shot back, wrinkling his nose because the light was getting too bright.

“GET UP, DAMNIT!”

The room went completely quiet, even Tora couldn’t believed that he had shouted that loud. It was all silent for about a minute before Saga’s body sat up straight and looked at Tora with a blank expression on his face.

The ideas were piling up in Tora’s brain and he was receiving them with great pleasure. This was just what he wanted. To make Saga listen, he had to make Saga his enemy.

“I’m going to need you to stop being such a lazy, inconsiderate person and get up. Do something. Anything. Just stop wasting breaths.” Tora rolled his eyes, standing up.

“Oi, what’s this?” Saga tilted his head with a frown, looking up at Tora. “I thought I was your minion. I thought that meant we are…are…” It took Saga a couple moments to remember the word, since he hadn’t used it in a while. “…friends.”

“Us? Friends?” Tora spat, turning his head and looking out the door, but not focusing his eyes on anything in particular. “I wouldn’t be friends with someone as stupid as you are. I am just going to use you. If you are of good use, I’ll let you live.”

“Excuse me?” Saga snarled, now feeling himself getting worked up. “Why are you changing your attitude all of the sudden?!” Saga glared at the man who still refused to even look at him.

“You know what? Just put yourself to good use and wash away those stupid drawings on your walls.” Tora answered, beginning to walk away. “They aren’t anything I can use.”

Saga was frustrated by now, and that caused him to stand up. He stood up stick straight before he ran quickly towards Tora’s body that was walking away, put his hands on his shoulders and took a leap, wrapping his legs around the Tora’s waist and bringing him to fall down.

“What the-?” Tora growled, trying to get Saga off of him but he ended up on the same position.

“Stop being so rude to me. It’s annoying.” Saga got off of Tora’s back and turned him around so he was looking at him. “YOU’RE annoying.”

“Don’t like my attitude? There’s a door.” Tora chuckled softly. “If you can find it, of course.”

Tora managed to push Saga off of himself now that he had let off a little steam, leaving Saga limp on the floor, not being able to do anything but to look at Tora, which was all he felt like he needed to be doing. Tora dusted away at his jacket and glanced down at the frozen Saga.

“By the way, make yourself pretty. I have something to discuss with you over dinner.” Tora smirked.

“I don’t get it.” Saga continued to stare.

“You don’t know about those, do you?” Tora chuckled.

“About what?”

“Dates.” Tora answered, going into another room and not looking back.

“Date?” Saga whispered to himself, sitting up. “Date…”

-

After a couple of hours of thinking and staring at the ceiling, Saga managed to get himself showered and dressed up. There wasn’t many outfits he could choose from, just the clothes on his back and several other pieces of clothing that Tora had stocked his closet with. He picked out pair of black and white pants with some sort of geometrical pattern on them and a plain teal long-sleeved shirt. He didn’t understand why he liked the combination, since the colors weren’t similar or nice, but he enjoyed it so he dressed himself up with it.

His hair went in the usual messy style, especially in a place with hair products he had never seen before, so he just kept his hair natural and let the subtle natural curls settle in. When he was finished, he walked out of his room and went to the yellow room, sitting down on a small table and looking at Tora who was arranging a flower in a vase.

“You’re late.” Tora scoffed. “And to think you live here.”

“I didn’t know, but I’m not going to apologize until you apologize for being rude in the morning.” Saga crossed his arms and tried to make an angered face, but the food that was cooking on the stove smelled so good that he couldn’t feel angry enough. He was starving.

“As if.”

Tora opened a rice cooker and served rice in two plates, soon pouring some sort of sauce and meat over it, the contents coming from another pot. He set down the food in front of Saga and poured some wine in two glasses. He then handed Saga a pair of chopsticks.

“I don’t know how to use these.” Saga blinked, staring at the two sticks.

“Learn. I don’t see why these are banned, they teach order in my opinion.” Tora shook his head and held up his hand, picking up a piece of meat with the chopsticks and showing Saga. “They’ll take a while to get used to, just try your best.

“Fine.” Saga nodded and managed to pick up a glob of rice on the first try, quickly putting his mouth on the end of the chopsticks and eating the little bit of food that was on it. “So, what’s this date mean?”

“A date is when you meet up with someone.” Tora shrugged and continued eating, taking a small sip of his wine.

“Why would you meet with someone? Why would there be a word for that? Can’t you just say ‘meet up with something’?”

“Well, a date is a little different…”

“Well then why did you tell me it was like meet up with someone?” Saga complained, eating more of his food. Recently, he had gotten the courage to ask as many questions as possible. He could thank Tora for it, but he knew that Tora was probably not very happy with having shared that skill with someone like him.

“Because that’s the best way to define it.” Tora answered in a bored tone.

“Well what’s the diff-“ Saga was cut off by Tora’s chopsticks in his mouth, along with a piece of meat in his mouth.

“Listen, Saga. Now that you can’t talk with your mouth full, I might as well go ahead and be clear with this.” Tora started, crossing his arms. “You may be in danger real soon if my plans don’t go as I wanted them to.”

“Hmmm?” Saga mumbled with the chopsticks in his mouth.

“Danger. Just danger.” Tora sighed. “I won’t let you get hurt though, so don’t worry.”

“What are your plans?” Saga said after removing the chopsticks from his mouth. “I can’t exactly be okay with this without knowing what in the world you’re thinking up in your little brain.“

“I have many, but I will only reveals the current ones.” Tora sat up, leaning his elbows on the table. “I sent a boy to take your place and go into your place. I told Kohara that you were bothering me and this boy will be captured, making Kohara think it’s you. You won’t be looked for anymore beyond that point, so you’re safe, unless this doesn’t happen and they look for you endlessly. I just thought I’d tell you, just so you know you’re at risk.”

“What am I supposed to do if they don’t find that boy and they find me?” Saga said softly, then realizing what Tora had done. “You’re sending out a poor boy to get hurt?!” Saga pouted. “How can you do that?”

“He’s Kohara’s type of boy, he will definitely not get harmed.” Tora answered nonchalantly.

“Oh…wait…” Saga leaned closer to Tora, sniffing softly since he was so close. “You smell like…female.”

“That’s Kohara’s smell.” Tora answered. “I changed my clothes and it won’t come off.”

“You smell like Kohara.” Saga made out the words.

“Just eat.” Tora commanded, eating his own food.

“Okay.” Saga ate a little bit of rice and then dared to try the wine. He spit it out in a second, spraying it all over Tora’s mask and neck.

Saga picked up a napkin and began wiping the mask, then stared at it in curiosity. He wasn’t wearing a mask, so why did Tora have a mask on?

“You should take off the mask, Tora.” Saga whispered softly as he continued to wipe the stickiness off the white mask. There were several pinkish spots that refused to come off. Everyone had two pairs of masks, so it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but he just thought it would be nicer if Tora was his normal self around him.

“No.”

“But why not?”

“No.” That was all Tora would say.

Author’s Note: Another update of my derpy fic. I realized I’m going on kind of slow, but I enjoy doing so. I am proud that I actually wrote a decent sized chapter this time, probably because I took my time on it. ^_^

Enjoy! Btw, I’m going to start an Uru/Kai chapter fic soon. Keep watch for that, my dears. (:
