Mixed in amongst the citizens comes a new type of pleasure-seeker. Tired of hiding, demons and creatures of lore have donned human visage. Their motives vary. Some simply want to experience and assimilate, others wish to overtake.
Ranks
Shogunate: Government officials, assistants to the Shogun, administrators
Daimyo: Landowners and feudal lords
Samurai: The warrior class
Geisha: Graceful and elegant entertainers
Peasants: Farmers, artisans, and traders
Eta class: "Filthy". Beggars, prostitutes
Races
Yokai are supernatural monsters, usually with inherent shapeshifting abilities and other spiritual supernatural abilities. They consist of: animals, such as nekos, kitsunes, okami, inugami, etc; Kappas; Tengu; and Oni.
Demons: Classic demons: Incubi, goblins, cambions, etc. Sometimes malevolent, almost always selfish and self-interested, can be bound as servants if you're brave or stupid enough to try.
Humans: regular homo sapiens.
