i'm glad i never listened to my high school guidance counselor, because doing something you love for a living is bull. i have come to the realization that as soon as i start getting paid to do something, no matter how much i enjoyed it before, i will grow to dislike it. i enjoy writing; i enjoy horses. you would think that working for horses all ( Read more... )

A career doing something you love is great and all, in theory. Usually doesn't work out that way in real life though. I totally agree with you. Basically you need a job that can pay for the fun things.

I learned that whole lesson pretty quick this past summer. Horses are staying as a hobby!!!

Wow, that's some great advice (because I'm in high school) Thanks! I know I'm going to be so poor being a journalist, on top of having to pay back my school loan.

Haha, no, I know what you're trying to say. If work is your leisure because you like it so much, then it stops being your leisure. I get it, even though that sentence may have been confusing.
