on edmonton

since i've come back from travelling, i've really appreciated edmonton more. maybe absence makes the heart grow fonder for cities as well as boyfriends? i think it's that while i was travelling, i came to appreciate the dirt and grit and life of poorer cities. they're noisy and disgusting and ugly, but underneath all that there is a vitality and a ( Read more... )

Have you ever been to Toronto's Chinatown? I live not too far from there! I was planning on coming to Alberta for the summer to work since I heard minimum wage there is very high, so I figured it would be good to save up for school ya know..

Yeah, you can make up to $15/hr working at Tim Horton's here. Even McDonald's is paying about $12. If you want to make money, come to Edmonton and not Calgary though. Calgary ispaying high wages, but it's also expensive to live, and Edmonton is still quite affordable.
