I have been busier than normal for the last month due to several things, one of the big things is that we are short staffed at Harper Asprey due to folks going on holiday and such and I have been taking on extra shifts to cover. Your felt fox is incredibly cute <3 I love the button eyes and the little stars!

What are the dormouse boxes that you check? Are they box traps, or some kind of nesting boxes? Or hibernating dens?

Aw, thank you! I am going to change the pattern slighlty, because his nose is a bit large. LOL!

Seems like you've found some wonderful ways to fill your days (even if the rescue does sound like it's been extra hectic lately), and wonderful people to spend them with. :) And your little felt foxy is adorable!

After the run of bad luck I have had with local people in the last year, I feel blessed to be able to have some nice local friends. I have had some not so nice experiences lately. And thank you for the compliments on the fox. I am trying to improve the pattern. :-)

Have you been watching the Olympics? How have they affected life in London? (I love how their mayor had to remind Mutt Romney that London was a bit different from Salt Lake City.)

Yes, knowing foxes like I do, that's exactly what they would say. We have a sweet little vixen in at the centre who takes great delight in trying to eat my fingers with sharp little bites.

I have been casually watching the Olympics. I watched the opening ceremony (some of it was inspired and some of it was awful!)and tonight watched the swimming for a little over an hour. I also saw a bit of Wiggins cycle race today. I didn't see the badminton controvery but from what I hear it was really awful. For teams to play to lose like that is a disgrace.

My London based friends say that the traffic/public transport has been running quite well. A lot of people took vacation time this week. I hear that it has been orderly and fairly well run. I am impressed. I will see first hand as I am heading into London on Sunday.

And as for Mutt - how the hell did the US find someone as stupid as Dubya and Palin? That takes some skill. If he becomes president my head will explode. :-/ He is THE big laughing stock here.

That opening ceremony needed morris dancers in the Industrial Age segment. Lots of morris dancers. I didn't see any, but I didn't catch the whole thing. The whole thing had a Mary Poppins Steampunk air to it. I wasn't at all sure where they were going with it.
