My mum and sister are awesome! They babysat Ethan so Tim and I could go out. We went and saw Catching Fire at the cinemas. Then came home for some time together.
Ethan had a ball! He loves visiting Nanna and has a wonderful relationship with my family. I need to let go a bit and give Tim's family more opportunities to develop that relationship too

Yup yup yup totally. Mum says that too, about respecting the kid's reactions. That it's about developing a relationship with the child, not expecting them to be happy to be held or be touched just coz you want to hold them.
