Farming

The past few weeks have pretty much kept us going from dawn to dusk with farm work. There is still more work to be done but it rained last night. Wow, your fields are so humongous! And that's a lot of rocks. ;-) I feel tired just thinking of picking them all...

Wow, that's a LOT of rocks! Do you have to gather them all by hand? We did that quite a bit 10-15 years ago, but haven't had so many in recent years. It's such hot, heavy work to get them all by hand...we'd gather them in buckets and then dump into a trailer behind the tractor. I always dreaded that job and tried hard to get out of it. :-P

It's fun to see these pictures of your tractors and fields - don't recall you posting any before. That's some mighty big tractors (compared to ours, anyway)!

Yes, we pick them by hand. I would certainly put it under my "Top Ten Least Favourite Jobs." :P LOL! Our land is extremely rocky and sometimes I think we are crazy trying to farm it. Haha!

These probably are the first pics of the fields I have posted. Guess because we haven't farmed for several years. :)

Yeah, it is a lot of work but hopefully will pay off in the fall.

Just curious...how did you come across my blog? :)

Canola and flax.....will you be harvesting these grains and selling them?
Picking up rocks has to be one of most least favorite things. I would rather clean

the barn out. We picked up so many buckets of rocks when we were doing our

french drainage ditches around the house.

Yes, we will be selling the canola and flax after we harvest them.
