I've been reading a whole bunch lately, read like 3 or 4 books at my dads, including a huge chunk of the old testament.

Got my very own copy of the Qur'an yesterday which rocks!

And...

Yea just regular stuff going on here, work, school, music stuff, thee usual. I hate money...alot.

That's it.

don't knock it til you read it with open mind... evil_joseph November 1 2005, 22:27:58 UTC
The Old Testament is the oral history of Moses and the Hebrews. The first 5 books were from Moses' accounts. The remainder were written by the Prophets.

I'm not here to disapprove anyone's faith or belief in GOD. Yet it truely is amazing how a higher power created self-motivating, highly creative beings with the gift of "free will". An unselfish gift given to everyone without strings attached.

I personally don't see GOD as a puppet master pulling our strings. Nor do I see him as a old man sitting on a cloud in front of his computer watching over every sin we do either. GOD to me is the spirit that comforts us during bad times, sits amongst us when we are happy and sharing a meal with friends. To me GOD is that something you cannot explain, the special something that makes you know your not alone and unloved in your life.

joseph who isn't a bible thumper but a "doubting thomas".

i dont mean to stir the pot even more than i already have... god knows josh has enough comments here, but, seriously, the first five books written by moses?

here, if you're so open-minded, taking in all accounts to get a clear picture of whats being said, go pick up a copy of a book called "the bible for people who hate the bible" and read like... the first two chapters. seriously. the five books of moses, were certainly NOT written by moses.

they were accounts of his actions... interpreted by his followers, and written out later... do you really think he'd lug around a big tablet to etch all that hebrew in? ... god forbid they find paper out there in that desert.

The guy who wrote the Qur'an was a murderer. When he died, he had Caliphs continue this murderous rampage like it was nobody's business. The Qur'an is a very hostile book. Islam is like Christianity/Judaism gone violent (did I mention it hates women?)

I do agree that taking posession of a person is Immoral, but why would it be in the roots of the bible? Is it from mis-interpretation, or is this how people actually thought when it was written? There's probably a shit load of other verses that piss alot of people off as well. I personally think that it's impossible to teach any kind of moral lessons through words...
