Pretty much anything by José Saramago, really; Blindness in particular has proven quite popular in my circles. Also, Virginia Woolf, especially her shorter work; I recently finished Monday or Tuesday and absolutely loved it.

Sula by Toni Morisson D: I heard her other stuff is good too. um, Jeanette Winterson (I think this is her name...) writes some fairly good (not spectacular, tho) lesbian/queer themed books. I've heard good things about Alice Walker too. but honestly, all the books I've been reading lately are "classic" novels ala Steinbeck, Shakespeare, etc, so I don't think you would have trouble finding them in Lahore~~

ask them to bring you chocolate D:

Forget the cousins. I'll buy Ms Morisson's books myself from right here.

ask them to bring you chocolate

That's like the Unwritten Law. You want to come over to Lahore, you better bring chocolates as payment for your housing/boarding/entertainment/food here. They better bring me chocolates or else.

XDD what books can't you find in Lahore, then? supah-recent ones, I'm guessing...?

ahaha, good thing they're from London and not America, then... American chocolate is nothing compared to European .___. MY KINGDOM FOR A BIT OF MILKA (I'd even settle for some Cadbury!)

It's funny that you suggested Everything is Illuminated because last night before going to bed, I added The History of Love to my list. Jonathan and Nicole, yay!

And thank you for all of your recommendations! I have a nice, long list now. :D
