My cousin visited over the weekend and we went to Dave and Buster's (my first time) and I was overwhelmed by all the games there. I don't think I would handle Las Vegas very well. The lights and the crowds and the excitement created around getting a lot of tickets is really manipulating. I feel mindless and controlled. Anyways, I tried my best

Wow Maria it's been so long since you posted! It's good to hear from you and get a little snippet of what's going on in your life.

Are you still teaching dance? That sounds like such a fun job. Obeth almost got a job doing that in Ann Arbor but they paid horribly and it was part-time. I hope you're well compensated.

I can relate to having desires that are both exciting and tiresome. I've really tried to minimize my own desire because acquiring new things generally doesn't make me feel good, and I've reexamined what my responsibility is in living sustainably. It sure is tough though, seeing people around us who use material possessions to qualify someone's status or lack of it. I try to remind myself that it's all temporary, it's all a myth. None of it is really important, in the end, it's really all about our experiences and relationships with other people. That helps me keep things in perspective.

I hope you update more. You are missed.
