See, for me it's the other way around...middle school were probably the worst years of my life. When I think of 'going back to simpler times', I think freshman year in HS. That was the year were you were older, but not too old, didn't have to worry too much yet, etc.
But I feel you.
When we're younger, we always want to be older, when when we get older...we're always wanting to go the other way, it seems. I wish somebody would've warned me about that when I was younger. Youth is really wasted on the young.
Middle school was, socially, far more traumatic for me than high school, simply because the kids were far more venemous then than they are now, cheers for whatever identity crisis we were all experiencing at age eleven. We aren't children, but we don't want to be children forever in most aspects, and so in a way, I think we're far more glad than discouraged at the aging process we've found ourselves tangled up in.
Studying for midterms is the worse. I have a pile of books upon my bed, and I just sort of look over and laugh at them from time to time.
