Nazareth, Creedence, Slade - were my favorite bands also. And Vlad Visotsky. The best of my youth's friend also named Alex did even call his dog Slade.
But the most favorite bands and singers were Hurra Hip, Deep Purple, Elton Jones, Pink Floyd and of course Beatles and Rolling Stones.
BTW did you ever hear my favorite song "Good bye" by Slade (I believe so)?
Still dreaming to bring it to my ITunes album, but fail fo find it.

I've never heard of Vlad Visotsky, or even Slade. :) Is the song called Goodbye Jane? I see it on YouTube...very nice, classic rock. :)) Credence Clearwater Revival is my favorite band from this era. Love their lyrics and tunes!

Cassette with Visotsky's songs is on the image.
Goodbye Jane is actually performed by Slade, but I was talking about different song. Probably the name of it is also different.

It's becoming hard to find a cassette player, they are mechanical, and failing over time....
I would say you are looking way better than Joplin, she was full of energy but ugly...
On lyrics -- sometimes I would better do not understand the meaning of them, in many cases it just kills the musical impression by vulgarity of it and often feels just primitive or too culturally localized that it could not be understood anywhere but in a country of the origin.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but thanks for the compliment. :) Lyrics and song meanings are always open to interpretation. They can mean different things to different people, and for me lyrics are very important. Some people do not care about the words of a song, drawn more to the instrumental components, but I do. Music is another way to gain insight into culture, learn slang, etc. - not that this is always a good thing. :))

I still have all my cassettes but do not listen to them :)
Youtube covers it all.

Mine are also long gone...have no idea where they ended up. I listen to music mostly through my iPod and sometimes YouTube if I want to watch the video. :)

No, mine are still there, in my parents' apartment along with Sharp GF-800 and Panasonic to play them ...
The Panasonic was built I think before 1980 :))

I even have something even older - tapes that my father listened to when he was young.
And Grundig TK 8 to play them :))

I think I have enough old iron to open a small technical museum...

Cool. :) I only have boxes and boxes of CDs, thousands of them. I have no devices to play old cassette tapes on, or other antiquated technological devices. I can barely operate my modern laptop. :))
