I can't install Azureus on my laptop. I spent most of the evening futzing with it and reinstalling Java... but it wasn't until I unloaded some few hundreds of temp files that I could download in BitLord again

I'm glad you at least got BitLord to work. It would suck if they ever made PCs that don't allow file sharing programs to work.

No kidding! I don't know why BitLord kept crashing on me. Besides the temp file dump, I was trying to reinstall Java when a Java update notice popped up - how timely! The new version did the trick, I think.

I still haven't been able to bring myself to try to access the MyBook again, but I do have a friend here in town who is in IT who can help me try to mount the drive inside my desktop. If we can do that, I'm going to burn DVDs like crazy, lol.

Meanwhile, my laptop has 75 GB free still, so I'm downloading new stuff there. I may get another external drive, meanwhile, but I'm not sure if it'll be another MyBook. A couple friends (including the IT guy) swear by them, but... oy, I don't want to go through this again. (Of course, I'll burn stuff off more often.) *sigh*
