Interestingly enough, two of my Psych professors, both of whom are women, have said that there is actually more restriction in being a male. The truth is that both sexes are confined to rigid stereotypes. The difference is that women are allowed to veer into "maleness" occasionally and not be scoffed at for it (ie. be critical thinkers, play sports). Men, on the other hand, tend to get their sexuality questioned for dipping into "feminine" activities. Plenty of women get away with playing football and wearing a t-shirt and jeans. How many men do you know who wear skirts and knit?

Both sexes are victims.
