I know sarcasm does no good in situations like this, but all I can think is:

Oh, look. Louisiana's politics still manages to be dirtier than the rice. Add oil to that, and it's just beyond disgusting.

All I can do is hope it won't pass. God forbid a company that made 14 billion dollars last be made to pay for causing massive devastation to Louisiana's coastline and putting hundreds of shrimp fishers out of work.

Oh yes, Exxon refused to pay the jury awarded settlement. They also lobbied and got a bill passed placing caps on the amount of money residents of oil spill affected areas can collect.

Yea, it worries me too. This spill is much larger than the Exxon spill, and less containable as it is a leak and not a spill from a ship, so the damage is far more intense. Yet, the amount of money for those affected will be less. *sigh*

There's just now saying it hit Louisiana? Oil has been ashore down here far longer than that.

Hell, traces of it where found near New Orleans in the Mississippi River.
