a... to make it clear: what exactly do u understand under the notion 'animal testing'? Because... well... they kind of do: they propose different kinds of food to dogs and see what food they do like, and what they do not (Mars also produces such items as Pedigree, Whiskas, etc). They actually have some farms (e.g. in the UK) where they take care of thousands of dogs and cats. And, really good care! (I am afraid, there are a lot of people on that planet that would dream of such a life...)
And... well... obviously, they do not do that with chocolate :) I mean, not like anyone thinks, dogs go for a Mars bar instead of a portion of dog food :)
So... I`d say, before u make such judgements, and even base your habits on them, make some research, or at list, switch on some logic thinking...
Sorry if i sound rude in any way, but i just happen to know something about it :)

You definitely don't know me but I was bored this morning and browsed the Writer's Block answers!

Do ignore ako_life. I've been in the fight for animal rights and welfare for almost ten years now and never in my life have I heard of such a thing as farm shelters for dogs and cats set up by the Mars corporation. Unless I see cold hard evidence for it, I'm not buying it. The only 'farms' they've got are places where they breed their lab animals.

ako-life seems pretty uninformed of how animal testing works, too - chocolate does get tested on animals. And the animals don't really get the choice of whether to eat the dog food or the chocolate, they get force-fed what the researchers are trying to test. After that, they're usually eventually cut open to see what the chemicals did to their bodies.

Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but you've got a good heart and don't let yourself be berated by people like ako_life. God knows what the motivation of people like that is - maybe they just realize they could be doing more themselves but are too lazy ( ... )
