What language is your manga in? If you've got English it might actually help your adorable cousin. If she's been studying English, I mean. I have planned to go back to reading manga in Chinese at some point in the next six or seven months, actually. With a dictionary and pictures, it was amazing how much my reading comprehension improved, and it was great for learning more casual language. Well, for a year or so anyway. And then I went to college! Ahaha. /o\
There was some article in the NYT a few months ago about how young Americans were moving to China to work in business stuff for a few years at a time because they got a higher standard of living and actually, you know, had jobs at a time when getting a job right out of school can be really difficult. Plus, most of them learned Chinese, which is an excellent skill for later.
She just graduated and she's going into law, but maybe she might still have a use for English! Hmm, I'll give her some of my manga then.
I can't bring myself to move to China though, even if it's cheaper and easier to live there. I've got such a snarl of issues that the dumbest stuff sets me off. Like, people ask me if I like shopping, and why don't I like shopping? All girls like shopping! That just sends me into a frenzy for a metric shit ton of complicated reasons.
1/2: doncha just hate it when you can't speak the language? still, pretty pictures!
3: ouch. ouchouchouchouch. Good luck peachke.
4: Wow, that puts life in perspective. But please don't move to China, I will miss you!
5: Vroom vroom indeed. There's some movie where Jude Law actually plays a gay dude and there actually is a sex scene...when I remember what it's called I'll tell you. And Cory. She'd be all over it. :)
