the light is on at the end of the tunnel 1,500 and counting with 500 or so of those still to be filled into the chapter on results. another 5-600 on the limitations of the study and finally some bits and pieces around the place and tidying up sprinkle in some more comic strips thanks to the acedmic usage licence god bless the universal press

Excellent. I'd wish good luck, but that has very little to do with the writing of a thesis, eh? Just because something is painfully obvious to you or me, or anyone who has actualy read comic books doesn't mean it's obvious to the layperson who doesn't. It's good to have more evidence to point at, for that segment of humanity which is susceptible to rational arguement, but doesn't know the truth yet.
