Sounds like you hsd an amazing time! Yeah, as someone who has been riding the NYC subway for 20 years and counting, I can honestly say it gets hot enough at platform level to fry an egg!

The tragedy being that the time of being able to enjoy the company of friends being altogether far too short.
The parts of your trip before the con sound like they were good times, regardless of the work that was included.
