Oh yes, I forgot to mention that we played the Exquisite Corpse and somehow created a poem about bestiality. Don't ask me; I made the adjectives.

I'm sure your poetry was fine. Everyone at a poetry reading just goes to clap for their friends and have their friends clap for them. The audience is a no good partisan peanut gallery. Next time, bring more friends or hire homeless people to clap for you.
