this week as be really difficult and weird. this process should come with an instruction manual.
in other news, here are pictures from my suprise going away party at work:
yummy chinese pasteries:
i'm suprised!
the entire WTCHR staff
my cubicle-mate, mary. mary is really sweet, she is the oldest of
the college aides and took care of us. during my last week she
signed all of us (wai and i) to attend a lecture on the history of
methadone clinics in nyc so we could all do something together before i
left, and before the lecture she printed out readings on heroin
addiction for us to read as homework so we could ask intelligent
questions during the lecture.
my other cubicle-mate (yup, 3 people to one cubicle) wai, and the back
of alex's head. alex is still in high school. he's actually
the same age my younger brother, and we teased each other like brother
and sister. he was cool though, he let me listen to james taylor
on his ipod when he had to stick address labels on 5,000 mailing
envelopes. wai is also a cool cat. we appreciated each
other's sarcasm and we found out a way to get on the facebook, even
though the site was blocked because it was a "social/dating"
website.
looking back at my experience this summer, i am very proud of
myself. i'm usually pretty shy when it comes to meeting new
people. like last summer, i barely talked to any of the other
interns. but this summer, i put myself out there and just made
friends with everyone i worked with and had fun. i do miss them
though, we had good times. but we're keeping in touch through
email, which is awesome.
