I think what kids pick up eventually is how to generalize, whether from their parents or society. even within fandoms, or within a gaming community you can still pick up generalizations... but I guess they are more about the aspects of the fandom and less about where the fans come from.

Korean boybands will save the world! how awesome that would be.

Actually... I think Comic Fiesta too is uniting people just as much as Super Junior is. Back when it started, I don't recall a lot of Malay people involved, but last year when I went I was surprised by the different ethnicity, professionals and amatuers, young and old (not so old but some probably near their 30s or some maybe 40s) there.
