Books 2008 Challenge - 52 Books in 52 Weeks
Book #9 - Absolute Power, David Baldacci
Sort of recommended (would have been a definite recommended if it was about 100 pages shorter.)
Synopsis from bn.com:
"A first novel in the tradition of John Grisham, this major bestseller is a page-turner filled with murder, honor, loyalty, and betrayal and tells the tale of a young attorney who goes toe-to-toe with the White House to answer one question: Just how much can the president get away with? Can he get away with murder?"
This was a pretty good read, but it seemed like there was a pretty big section towards the end that could have been drastically snipped. It had great buildup in the tension between who-dunnit, who saw who-dunnit, and who gets caught in the middle. But it kept building beyond the point that it needed to, and the conclusion was pretty choppy and abrupt.
Now I need to rent the film version from Netflix to see if it's any good.
