jakob got a sandbox in the shape of a crab for easter from my mom. it was a hit, at least with the cousins (almost 3 and 5). jakob plays in it a little bit, then heads off to parts unknown.

big hit for him is water, he has a toolbench at my mom's, and she fills the sink with water. he'll happily splash in that until all the water is gone (it's shallow).

Does the sandbox have a cover on it? I remember my nieces and nephews having one that was in the shape of a turtle.

ok, that's exactly what i was thinking of and yeah, that would be a *very* good thing to have. i've tried pushing jakob around on the trikes here without those handles and it sucks, badly.

a cover was a requirement for a sandbox here due to cats and chickens roaming the yard so yes, it does. she tried to find the turtle, but they don't seem to have those in fashion these days. the crab is a cutie tho.

This sand and water table is a little pricey, but I saw it the other day and fell in love ;) If I were to have a little one running around again, it would be my choice!

OMG - that's so cool!!

The age range says for 5-8 years, but a lot of the comments say that it is being used for kiddos around the boy's age. I'll have to stop by TRU and see if they have it locally.
