Unreal gas prices

Nov 07, 2008 17:36

$1.79 at stations where my parents live. It's still $1.84 by our house, but I'm sure it will correct in the next day or so.

Un Freakin' Believable. I never thought I'd see gas for under $2 a gallon again.

Kansas City does seem to be consistently under the national average for gas prices, so that doesn't surprise me too much.

I can't remember what diesel was - it's under $4 I know. But I'm sure we'll never see that translate into lower prices for anything.

Au contraire, I've already seen the prices on cereal and chips drop since the drop in fuel prices by about $.90 each.

Diesel is 3.09 and gas is 2.77 here.

Really? Wow - we don't really eat much of either (I think we've had one box of Fiber One cereal in the pantry for a few months.)

So the prices are lowered, but are the carton sizes smaller as well? My mom was complaining about ice cream cartons being smaller a few days ago.

I haven't noticed our grocery bills being any different, aside from needing to buy stock in Del Monte since the boy is on a green beans and peas kick at the moment.
