I was kind of hoping this would turn into something more storylike, but it seems determined to be more of a plotless character ramble. Still, I like it anyway, and so I am sharing! Plus etben said it didn't suck, so. Here, have an angsty post-war Ghost of You ficlet

Oh, my heart. I loved Frank's "I know. Do it anyway." and the way Gerard didn't want to give those last little pieces of Mikey back to Alicia. (And I agree with cheshireempress, I want Alicia and Gerard to hook up in the universe.)

Oh, man, the two of us where talking about it more, too, because she got it stuck in my head. Like I told her yesterday:

Like now I am thinking about when Gerard asks her to marry him -- at dinner alone, or something -- Alicia kind of folds her hands in her lap and looks straight at him. "I'm not a virgin," she says.

And Gerard blinks kind of stupidly and isn't sure what to say, so he just goes, "Uh. I'm not either?" Because there was that one girl in France, who slept with him when he snuck her food for her and her little brother.

The problem is, I can see Gerard's side of it pretty easily, but I really don't feel like I have Alicia down enough to get why she's doing it, you know? I'm never going to write it because it's just too hard, but I waaaant.

I don't think Alicia really knows why she does it, either. But in my head, they actually have sex before they get married

If you wanted to actually write this, I would pay you A MILLION DOLLARS.

Or, uh. You know. Whatever the internet porn-writing equivalent of a million dollars is.

Oh, man, I really want this to exist, but all I have is the beginning, with the angry drunk resentment sex, and the not-entirely-unhappy ending. I feel like there should be an entire emotional arc in there somewhere.
