+ The one about how the Mountain Goats "This Year" works really good for a teenage Charles pov AU. (Erik can be the girl called Kathy.)
+ The one about how Erik's papa was a rodeo. Kait's response: "only if his mama was a rock n roll band." I did not reply "God, Kait, his mom is DEAD. INSENSITIVE", but I thought it. Charles has a twisted point of view, a questioning eyebrow, and a kiss-me pucker forming, obviously.
+ College AU, still-powered, where Charles and Erik have just broken up and Erik gets drunk and keys Charles's car. He's jealous because Charles is at dinner with Moira and he thinks it's a date, even though they're just friends. Moira is like "dude, your ex is a psycho" and Charles is in this awkward place where he's super angry and embarrassed but also kind of wants to defend Erik and make vague excuses for him? ("He's not like this usually, he's better when you get to know him", etc, etc.)
Actual text sent to Kait: "Basically it's like canon, except with car keying instead of terrorism."
Also: "I love it when Erik is like NOBODY CAN EVER MAKE CHARLES SAD!!!!! and Charles is like, you really have NO self knowledge"
+ My phone doesn't have a physical keyboard, so my texts to her are often riddled with errors. I'm not sure why this led to an AU idea, but it did.
ME: Now I am imagining Erik in a epic battle of wills against autocorrect >:(((
ME: Charles is all, "Your fingers look so elegant, it's a wonder they're so stubby and error-ridden on your phone"
ME: Because he's helpful like that.
KAIT: Ahahahaha, oh Erik. He's so angry that it's a MACHINE that's mostly METAL is THWARTING HIM.
ME: Totally! A whole extra layer of betrayal.
