Something has got to happen cuz this can't keep going on. I need a plan for my life. Right now it's graduate in May with a Music degree and then apply to work in North Park Admissions whenever an opening happens and if that doesn't work out I have my options down to Trader Joe's, Starbuck's, Jamba Juice and the Skokie Park District. Don't graduate in May. Take the extra semester and get the teaching certificate (unless you have set-in-stone plans to get the teaching certificate at a later time). That stupid little piece of paper will open up lots of doors...once you have it, it's easy to add on endorsements so it's easy to teach lots of different grades and subjects if you want. It'll be easier to get it now than at any other time in your life. And if you ever need almost instant job security, tack on an endorsement in special ed....I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but there are TONS of job openings in it. I see numerous openings posted all the time in the emails from my district. It's too early in life to start closing doors!
