These days I constantly daydream about finding that perfect house, buy it and turn it into the most amazing place. This is how my bedroom would look:

I love this. I love that little door in the back, and the weird position of the walls in the room. Beautiful, really cozy.

The little wall was what I first fell for, before I saw the wall paintings or wallpaper. I really really want to see what is on the other side of that door!

my dream house would be either an old cottage in the woods or an old victorian house with plenty of land to have animals that would be near the woods. it's hard for me to explain how it would look but trust me, it would be storybook perfection.

Storybook perfection sounds wonderful! My dream house would have a huge garden where I would grow vegetables and throw Alice in Wonderland-inspired parties in the summer.

looking at that photograph and then closing my eyes, i keep hoping that when i open my eyes i will be there. that room is a dream, it's so perfect and cozy. the colours, the light, the hidden door where you could hide from imaginary monsters.

i would love a room similar to that really. whenever i think about a dream place to live it involves many porches on all different levels and a fire escape i can sit on, looking at the mountains, the sea, the city. writing. big windows with wooden windowsills for my plastic toy animal collection to sit on in the autumn sunlight.

[i dream about this far too often...]

It is perfect, it really is. I hope that one day I will buy a house with an attic that I can turn into something like that. And big windows are a must.

You are not the only one that dreams about dream rooms our houses far too often, it is all I think about!

I was watching some design show once - you know the type, where they do 'an amazing transformation' on someone's room over the weekend or whatever. Anyway, the room they did was this tiny little attic room with a sloped roof. They painted everything this really amazing shade of bright pink and had everything in the room match in the exact same shade - bedspread, decorations, everything (although I don't really remember what they did about the floor). Usually I'm all about the cozy, mismatched patterns, mismatched old furniture type of look like in the picture you posted, but this bedroom was so unbelievably striking - a total eyefuck! Like living inside a gumball! I'm not sure if I'd want it as my bedroom all the time - maybe in a colour other than bright pink! - but I think it would make a pretty sweet guest room.

That sounds really really neat! I have a picture of something similar, a kitchen all painted in green (except the floor and ceiling), with matching furniture and even matching plates. It is a quite soft green so it works well, it is very soft and friendly, and probably better than bright pink would do.

Yea the pink was definitely a little much, although I can see being really into it if I were a little kid again! I've seen it done really nicely with white too - it looks really ethereal.

Yes, I think white or any soft, pastel color would work fine!
