I think this falls under Miz Cat's idea that this addresses Jack's childlike nature... me too, thank you for saying I got this idea filled out correctly. I do so very much enjoy playing with all here and seeing what comes about. You are the heart of kindness dearheart, means much.

Jack classified his responses into categories: Pain, Pleasure, Imperative, or Curious.

Well, that just about covers it! Jack Sparrow, in a nutshell! :-)

Reading this, it strikes me that these four categories also describe how an infant/child typically tends to define their world. That childlike quality in Jack (IMO) is one of his most engaging and appealing characteristics, and I guess why kids are drawn so strongly to the character as well as adults.

(Of course--speaking most definitely as an adult--the fact that he's gorgeous and incredibly hot doesn't hurt either!) ;-D

A wonderfully insightful study of our favourite pirate captain (and one that, I think, hits the nail right on the head!) Great drabble!

"That childlike quality in Jack (IMO) is one of his most engaging and appealing characteristics"...yeah, that's definitely part of the hot pirate appeal. Meets my Pleasure/Curious categories! He has such immediacy about his thinking, decides and goes on. I rather like that, if you can jump on the train at some point where you actually have a clue about what's driving him at that particular moment. Tin prompt was kickin' my booty/brain...I was sitting around, shakin' my head and ponderin', when this thought showed up==isn't it fun witin the hundred...thank you so much dearest miz cat, feels nice hearing what you've got to say.
