Well, I am alive, but just barely. As of two weeks ago I have been studying my ass off for my finals that are coming up next week. I have English on monday and Geography on friday. Also, my BIRTHDAY is on thursday, and I leave for Big White on friday after my exam. Busy, I know, but worth it nonetheless.
Oh, yes, I wanted to say that I just finished reading Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose and I loved it!!! I know that a lot of people don't like it and say it's inaccurate and all that but after falling in love with the HBO series I couldn't help but picture each moment of the book in my head with the actors playing it out. I know boring, but I had fun hehe.
Now I'm on to Beyond Band of Brothers by the one and only Richard Winters. I'm only a chapter in and I can't help but picturing Damian Lewis sitting at his typewriter like during "Crossroads" typing out his life story. But anywhoo, if you haven't read either book, but like WWII drama then I would definitely recommend them both (even though I'm not finished the second one). They are well written and easy to understand for those of us who have trouble with all the military jargon. I have found that I use my knowledge of WWII that I gained from BoB in History and English class a lot. But most people think I'm a weirdo. I can't blame them though.
An example of this was when we were reading a poem in English about a black man who loved a white woman during the war and he felt invisible when she wasn't there, and my teacher explained that black men weren't allowed to be in the army, they just did the dirty housekeeping work, and I decided to shout out yeah, like cleaning the latrines and KP duty. She laughed, and said that was true.
Hmmm what other news is there? Oh well, I'm going to be turning 18 in a few days time. That should be fun. Only one more year before I'm legal and can go to clubs and drink and such. I'm taking my N test on Feb. 11th and I hope I pass this time cause I really want to be able to drive places by myself for once.
I've become hooked on Twilight. Eww, I know, but still. It started when I downloaded the soundtrack and heard Rob Pattison's voice...then I had to see the movie again and now I've been reading some fiction and my little fangirl brain is having a freak out. I haven't decided what my OTP for it is but there are a few possibilities.
That makes me want to list my ships for all my various fandoms: past, present and only in daydreams.
let us start with the oldies, but goodies. (OTPs in BOLD)
Harry Potter
Harry/Cedric (yep, I love RPatz in that movie too)
Ginny/Viktor
Fred/George
Lord of the Rings
Legolas/OC
Legolas/Eowyn
Aragorn/Eowyn
Series of Unfortunate Events
Violet/Klaus
Supernatural
Sam/Dean
Jonas Brothers
Kevin/Joe
Nick/Joe
Now here are my present obsessions:
Band of Brothers
Winters/Nixon ( I know, duh, right? I am aware it is the Pam/Jim of the BoB 'verse, but they are just undeniable)
Lipton/Speirs ( they belong together, if Speirs has anything to say about it, but honestly I could probably ship Speirs with anyone because he is just sex itself)
Webgott
Luz/Perconte(Luz is another one that could be shipped with anyone)
ROE/BABE!!! AHHHHHH CUTENESS ATTACK! Roe is gorgeous so he too could chill with other boys too if he would like
Toye/Guarnere (though I don't read them too much...not the biggest Toye fan I have to admit)
Yes it is true, I am completely unoriginal in my BoB ships, but it's because they are so plausible that I don't have the heart to break up the lovers!!!!!
Twilight (these are possible ships)
Bella/Edward (most likely not cuz they are tooooooooo canon)
Bella/Carlisle (I have read a few and am liking what I'm reading...shall keep an eye on this one)
Bella/Emmett (yum)
Edward/Emmett ( yeah I need some more slash in my life)
Edward/Carlisle (they are both beautiful specimen need I say more....oh gawd just thinking about it...ugh ftw)
yeah that's all i can think of right now but i will be searching for more non canon ships that tickle my fancy and will report.
I should be doing geo studying right now so tahtah
