My history class this year is IB History of the Americas (Mostly South America) and we talked a bit in class the other day about who the "Americans" are and what people mean when they say "Americans" vs. "The Americas." Etc. We thought it was interesting how "The Americas" (North, South, and Central) generally refers to the entireity of both continents, but "Americans" is generally indicative of US residents. We also talked about how other countries in the Americas identify as "Canadian" or "Brazilian" or "Chilean" or whatever, y'know? We (meaning the US) are the only ones who, if someone asks, will be like, "I'm an American." But it's weird how other people will identify as Mexican or Cuban but if people are like "The Americans say such and such..." will be like, "Hold on now, stop generalizing, we didn't say that, only the US..."
One of those interesting little double standard things. Anyways, I'm done rambling now and I want to go take that American quiz...
^^ And really, if you look at it, the citizens of the United States of America are the only ones who can, rightly, identify NATIONALITY by saying American. It's in your country's name. xP
My dear, you are never done rambling. You were born rambling and will probably die rambling.
Wish I'd gotten on later yesterday, then. *sigh* Hate time-zones some days.
Turn up and do something interesting? ^^ I'll have to think on that. He must have some sort of reason, first... theoretically. (This is Mags, he might just be nosy and stick his head in because he feels like it...)
Saw that. 32 messages in my inbox. (I was tracking, xP).
And breakfast sounds good. Where there is food, there shall be Terrier. And Mags hasn't met Courtenay, and Atkinson only briefly (maybe- I can't recall... have to check wardroom thread) so he's a bit more... detached from it all.
But if you want you can drop a line to Lysander who's talking to one of the lieutenats... I was going to have him introduce himself eariler but then things got way out of hand.
*Shrugs* It's ultimately up to you though! (Personally I think they'd have a lot to talk about)

Umm...that sums it up...
I love the way Terrier is, he's so fun to read, I'd love to see him in close quarters with Lysander scheming about making mischeif!
But when ever you can!

Mags: Mischevious, bouncy, perpetually cheerful
*g*
And no qualms about his orientation, either. (Which is flagrantly bi-sexual. Dreadful libertine.)
^.^ That would be amazing.
Hopefully soon, then!
