Moving out

Feb 05, 2006 16:43

Am home right now due to me getting news that something happened to my dog Tinkerbell (who is 16 years old). They thought she had a stroke, but it turns out she has either a slipped disc in her back or a blood clot, and it's causing her to not use her back legs very well (her left leg is worse than her right, it won't even bend). She's on ( Read more... )

I know it's hard, but try not to worry too much about Tinkerbell. My dog Curly (he died in '02) had a problem with his back, and now and then his back legs would just stop working. It was the oddest thing. They'd put him on some kind of steroid for a couple of weeks, and it was amazing how fast it would help. I hope that's all it is. Don't worry about the job. Things are always overwhelming at first, but after a few months you'll be a pro.

Yeah, I can definitely see the improvement from the steroid they gave her (she managed to get up the two steps to our deck today on her own). They say that since she's so old they can't do anything about it except keep her medicated and hope it goes away, but I'm just happy she's still acting all Tinker-ish. I love my dog so damn much. :P

I think what scares me most about the job is that in the orientation handbook that they gave me, at least every other page they bolded and underlined the statement that they could fire you at any time for basically no reason during the first 90 days. I know that's standard everywhere, but the fact that they wrote it so many times and made it stand out so much just makes it frightening. Like it's not just company policy, it's a threat and it's more than likely going to happen. *laughs nervously*

Hey Tabbi,
Sorry for not being around...Exams and all are rather time consuming.
I'm really happy you got the job! Congratulations. And I'm also happy that you have found such a nice person to live with. When I read about what your parents do it just freaks me out...I can't believe parents would go to such an extreme. I'm happy everything worked out for you!
*huggles much*
