Random Thought

So one of the fans on my computer has started to make a grinding sound.  It's stopped for now, but I've been through enough computers to know that usually that's a sign that it will be nearing its end fairly soon.  That is if dusting the inside doesn't work.  I haven't cracked open the case on the bad boy since I got it over two years ago.  But ( Read more... )

True, that. I remember getting my first Mac in grad school, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I had to bring my car around to the loading dock because you had to have three or four big, heavy chunks of equipment: a monitor, a printer, and the actual computer. Every time I buy a new one, it's lighter than the last. The current one weighs 4 1/2 pounds--almost half the weight of the last one. (Of course, it doesn't have an optical drive.

Saving everything=good idea. You never know about the computer itself, though. I once had mine seemingly explode right before a trip to Seattle. I utterly freaked. It was just the battery expanding before it died. They popped it open to replace it, and when I saw the inside, I said, "uh--could you vacuum out the cat hair while you're at it?" So maybe your computer will be all right after all.

LOL. Most PC's are the same way still. My desktop is massive, but I find that it's better than any laptop in terms of running my games with optimal pictures. My iPad is basically a hand-held gaming device for me because I don't do anything important on it.

Oh I'm positive that the entire thing is completely gunked up with pet fur. Heck, The Boy sheds a small dog's worth of hair every couple of days (not totally convinced that he's NOT eating said small dogs and just leaving the puffs of hair as trophies) and then there's my two cats. It's about time to crack it open and clean it out *nods*
