I think I'm going to die.

School tomorrow. I am actually scared for my life. I mean, I'm... not a social person. The bad tendency of the Japanese (gathering in packs) has rubbed off on me and I'm not really sure if I can get it off. And I don't really want to run to fellow Japanese students. Because they are Japanese, and from what I have observed from elementary school ( Read more... )

Hope everything goes well for you!

I'm terrible at getting to know new people, so I'm probably not much help. D:

It's not just Japanese who tend to stick to their own in the US, a lot of minorities do the same thing -- Chinese, Koreans, Hispanics, African-Americans, etc. People just like being in a comfort zone with others from a similar culture/background. You have a good attitude about not wanting to self-segregate though, and I think if you try you can make friends with all sorts of people. The best way to start would probably be to join some clubs/extra-curricular activities, that's always a good way to get to know people.

Anyway, good luck with school! I hope everything goes well. :)

You'll be okay!

Don't fret too much - just remain calm, and do your thing and be your regular awesome self and things will work. Don't worry! *hugs*

What, are there lots of Japanese kids at your school?

I remember those groups when I was in school too...I kind of floated around... In the end i was okay by doing that, but then again that was only my situation.

You know, go with your heart and do whatever that's comfortable for you to do...! Though i understand that's easier said than done.

If you're going to join orchestra/band at your school, maybe you don't get stuck in one pack.

Best of luck!!
