I read that. It was a really fantastic piece.

Wishful thinking. If anyone thinks that things could have turned out this way with Bush or Gore, they're dreaming up a fantasy. I don't recall anyone, republican or democrat, who thought we should be "humble" in the post-9/11 unity that this country saw. Everyone was angry and wanted revenge or at least retribution.

It's easy to write a piece like this 5 years later. After all, hindsight is 20/20.
