I've spent the last two days trying to dream up a good metaphor for something, but it just hasn't come to me. I've never been the most imaginative person. I'd like to write something I could be proud of; (there it fucking is, Tamara) something more akin to poetry than prose, but first I need a good metaphor. Maybe in time. For now we'll just be ( Read more... )

I suggest you pick up a Tom Robbins book if you are looking for insights into metaphores. And I mean just pick it up, any book, any page at random. I just pulled one of his books of my shelf and opened it and was instantly reading a metaphor more creative than anything I will ever come up with.

Whatever problems you are having with the ladies I assure you mine are much worse. Chin up.

I'm glad you are rethinking the stinginess of your previous ways. This is a big step for you and perhaps you'll satisfy that someone immensely when you do meet her. It's not as if you are incapable, but having the right attitude is important.

I'd really rather you didn't comment on things like this in such a way. If you made a post about, I don't know, getting better looking clothes because your previous ones were shitty or something, I wouldn't comment and say, "God yes, your clothes were shitty, but it's nice that you're changing that." Thank you. That came out more bitter than I truly feel, but I really didn't appreciate that.

Sorry...it was truly meant to be a positive comment. I simply thought it was nice that you were becoming more positive and that you'll hopefully be able to put it to use. That's all. I never said that there was anything "shitty" about you. In fact, I commented that you are not incapable of greatly satisfying someone. You were the one that originally said you weren't previously the most generous. I didn't bring it up, but decided to tell you that I was happy that you wanted to change that. I was just trying to be encouraging. Maybe I should refrain next time to avoid overreaction. It's not what I was going for. I honestly expected a different response since my intention/tone was different than you perceived it.
