The eyes of the world were focussed on the Mall this weekend, but a lot of people who live in the DC area were otherwise inclined. Elizabeth & I stayed in, most of the time. The one exception was yesterday evening, when we went to celebrate my birthday a couple of days ahead of time with David. I kept the worst part of my sore shoulders at bay with

You're still healing, and you'll continue to be more sensitive to cold for a while yet because of that.

That's true. People who've had this kind of surgery tell me that it takes a long time for things to settle down. Tomorrow & the rest of the week are going to be tough to face. My BP tends to go a bit wacky when I'm exposed to what the new heart valve thinks is cold. However, if I can get through this week without anything cardiologically scary going down, next week may be warmer.
