some important realizations

i've been getting really into country music recently. classic country like gene autry, johnny cash, and hank williams. i've also been getting onto that early-mid 70's type of "hang out/feel good" music like rick nelson, the eagles, and the doobie brothers. it's perfect to study by ( Read more... )

I read this, so I am leaving you a comment about how I am doing.
Pretty Good!
I'm doing well in school and pretty much have the biggest crush on Mr. Drake. I'm working hard to try and get into Wesminster so I can teach English and Mrs. Lawrence, Mr. Drake and Mrs. Nackos are helping me a lot. Mr. Drake offered to write me a letter of recommendation!
Spencer and I are as in love as ever. He's still a destitute film maker down in BYU, and I don't get to see him as often as I used to, but when we do see each other every couple weeks they are the best times of life. All of my life is motivated by love.

Spencer is actually making a short film based on your white noise poem! You know he loves that poem so much.
I love hearing from you, and am so jealous of your dissection experience, it sounds amazing!

i'm so glad to hear that!! that makes me so happy that spencer likes that poem and that you are doing so well. i'd love to hear some of your recent pieces. i really miss ms. lawrence, and i decided that i'm going to have to visit her, and the new litmag crew this spring.
i find love to be the most powerful effective motivator of all.

that was a really cute picture of you guys that yoshi took.
you guys seem so good together. it makes me smile.

haha, i love your picture!
I've been meaning to stop by the library and say hello, but I always see you around campus anyway.
We really do need to hang out, and not just say that we're going to, because that's totally lame.

Dearest Ian-bo-be-an,

Haha, I love how much of a passionate science geek you are. Dissection really is cool. The only dissection I've done all semester is sheep brains 3 times. It's so crazy that the outside looks relatively homogenous and then you make a cut and....boom! All these distinct structures. It's always nice to be taken by a passion.

My life is wonderful. I am a sick puppy, but everyone is always so nice about it. I like all my classes, if not all my professor. Organic Chemistry is very tough because it is sort of a whole new way of looking at things and having to connect observations to deductions a lot more carefully. I like it now that we are doing synthesis. I didn't like trying to determine r-s and enantiomers and chirality because there wasn't really a method, just visualization. BLEAH!

I hope the best for you, kiddo. This winter, my goal is to become the world's greatest vegetarian cook.
...or at least learn more dishes.

danchi!
i do love the science. i love nervous system dissections the best though.
i'm glad to hear that you're doing so well. your boy seems like he treats you well, which i'm happy for.
i don't mind stereochem at all, because it's logical, i can DO it. but synthesis is like fucking black magic!! i swear, how the hell does it work? to an alkene you add osmium tetraoxide with pyridine followed by soduium sulfite in water, and you get syn addition of hydroxyl groups! yeah, i totally don't see that. ugh.
i'm really looking forward to this christmas when we can all hang out again.

I think you would really like neuroscience. For a biology class, you actually get to make a lot of connections (although there is still a tedious amount of memorization ( ... )
