Before I start perusing my friendlist, can I just say how much I LOVED Justin's opening musical number for the KCAs? He's so effing adorable and dorky, yet oozes with charisma and personality. guh, he's so cute. thanks for posting that video; i hadn't seen it. one of the things that makes him such a true superstar is the fact that he can credibly host SNL and sing about his gift in a box, and then turn right around and charm a bunch of screaming ten-year-olds. he's just special. of course, we knew that all along. it's nice that the rest of the world has caught up. :-)

Ok I recommend Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings it's my fave book and the series that follows is just amazing. It's fantasy but it's so well written and effortless to read.

That said, I really want to make an effort to start reading again -- at least one book a month. Do you guys have any recommendations?

That's so funny, I had opened your post in another tab in order to respond to it after reading through my flist and then in another entry, somebody links to this site, which is perfect for you:

Oh, and one of my favorite books is "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger.

Likewise, "Come Back" by Claire Fontaine and Mia Fontaine is really good.

And here's ( http://lea724.livejournal.com/881346.html ) a list of the books I read last year, with the bold ones the ones that I really recommend.

Check out jc_postcards for a project the fandom is working on. :-)

As for books, I'm reading right now "The Royals" by Kitty Kelley. It's really good and dishy. :-) I've been reading a lot of chick-lit this past year, such as Sophie Kinsella (anything by her is great!) and Meg Cabot.
