For the last 5 to 7 years, I have spent far more time working towards activist/queer/arts projects than I have towards earning money to live. But that's my choice. I figured out a long time ago that though I do need to keep my head above water (financially), it's these "non-profit" projects that feed me and the arts/queer/activist communities are

If I were to come out there for about a month (or less?) in the summer, would it be hard to find a sublet? Also, would there be some way I could get involved with a project that would involve my having to speak French?

there may be a sublet available at my place, to tell you the truth. But there are summer sublets all over. You'll have your pick, really.

There's also a pretty amazing thing happening in the queer community here right now: French and English folks are integrating! So there's actually a bunch of homo projects that you could work on that would put you in constant interactions with french queers.

We should make a phone date to talk. What's your timeline for this MTL visit?

Thanks for getting back to me! I don't think I'm coming out there anymore as I've booked a trip to NYC and that will readily deplete me of my non-funds! Next time MTL! ♥
