[Warden Filter]

[Hi guys. You know what Tim is not going to do? Talk about Bruce or Steph or Wally or Conner. Well maybe a little later. But right now he's kind of pissed and feeling all those angry clingy feelings teenagers feel when someone else shows interest in someone they've known longer.]On June 13th, Bourne showed us what his inmate, David ( Read more... )

Respecting the fact that I haven't seen David's file and inmates often exaggerate their reactions to punishments, I do know from my experience with most shape-shifting technologies that being trapped in an unfamiliar form for an indefinite period of time can be terrifying for whoever is trapped in the form.

Have you talked to Bourne directly about it yet? Told him that you thought it was inappropriate and got his reasons?

I'm waiting to hear from him. [Just. Gonna let him assume or not that he contacted Bourne before this. >>]

Warden Filter - YEAH HUH I JUST DID! buywithme July 24 2011, 21:11:44 UTC
That's not the punishment fitting the crime! The punishment fitting the crime would have been to lock David in a closet and use his journal to make a bunch of posts pretending to be him.

Being a rat would be awful! You wouldn't be able to tell people that it was really you, and that you needed help, and someone could just kill you by stomping on you, and his warden could have kept him in a cage, or just unleashed him onto the Barge like that, and do you have any idea how many people here keep cats?

It's horrible, Comrade, and it's terrifying, and I can understand that maybe it wouldn't seem like that if you could turn yourself into animals and back at will, but imagine being stuck as one that was that small and helpless, and no one who cared about you even knowing.

Is that seriously all you have to say? You're on the filter, Bourne. If you want to explain yourself, do it where they can see.

[Bourne closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, counts to ten in his head, and looks back at the camera. When he speaks again, it's with that particular slow-burning fury he's so good at.]

I'm not using the filter because I want to take this up with you in private first, like you should have had the common courtesy to do with me instead of assuming the worst and slapping it up on the network for everybody on the filter to see.

I assume David told you about his punishment in confidence, because I know that there's no way in hell he'd appreciate having it be common knowledge. It's why I didn't film that. He's not proud of when he spent time as a rat in the past and would prefer if people didn't know about it. This is part of why I didn't parade him around as a rat like some sort of sick trophy. The other part is that it would be distasteful. The Barge does not need to see him at his worst. This is why I've been vague about what happened to him. It wasn't pretty for either of us and we were getting ready to close the door on it and move ( ... )

Are you kidding me?

You don't get to use the phrase that's what wardens do. You haven't thought about a single thing you're saying, have you? You are a warden, they are inmates. You don't get to use what they do to you as an excuse, and you sure as hell don't get to take revenge.

Are you actually saying that people knew about this, and stepped aside? Because the idea of you having accomplices is one of the worst things I've come across on this boat. You knew what he went through, and you did i to him. Four days, a month, that doesn't matter. You're the reason he won't be trusting anyone.

I brought this to the wardens because what you did was wrong, and it needs to be dealt with. Tell them your side of the story now, because I have nothing else to say to you. [Keep your slow burning fury, Bourne, Tim has his Batman voice. And it's not that stupid gravely thing either, it's the tone that has villains shitting their pants up and down Gotham.] Now you know that I'm watching, we have nothing else to discuss.
