So my Great Grandma passed away this morning. Apparently the nurses had her in her wheelchair, gave her her medication, then she just put her head down and quietly died

I'm so sorry for your loss. How remarkable to live to age 97. But I understand very well how you feel about her passing. When my father died almost three years ago now, it was very sad for us but it was really a blessing for him. His health was rapidly deteriorating and he would have hated having to live on in that condition. I am thankful that the memories we have of my father are all good ones right until the end.
I think just about everyone is dealing with it about the same way.. it's hard on my Grandma because she's having to deal with all the administration, but we've all sort of known this was coming for a long time so it was hardly a shock. Thank you.
Aw hon, I'm sorry, I didn't see your post until after we spent a day chatting back and forth (which is why I didn't say something earlier). I understand where you're coming from, it's hard not to feel guilty, because you feel like you should be feeling sad. But it's okay not to feel very sad. Of course you'll miss her, but you're right, everything you said is on the money.
