Emmitt Smith

Shame on those who don't give credit where credit is due. This guy is aiming for 18,000 yards this sunday and no other back has passed 17,000. In my opinion, and it's been this way for many years now, Emmitt Smith is the best running back in the NFL. There was Barry Sanders, but sorry, he ended his career early and only beat so many records. ( Read more... )

I love Emmitt Smith. What's not to love about the man? He's just a guy that loves to play the game of a football, and he keeps on doing it. He's a great family man and all around good guy too. One of my favorite moments was his first game facing Dallas as an Arizona Cardinal. In his after game speech, he shed a tear when he started talking about watching his son play in his first football game. I'm not going to contend he's the greatest back of all time, but I think it's near impossible to discredit someone as a running back who STATISTICALLY is the greatest all-time. He's probably my favorite player and he just proves again that you can't count the man out. It's strange to say that the Cowboys have no running attack today. At 35, Emmitt's probably better than Eddie George, at least in Arizona where he has something to prove.
