Yuletide Letter 2014
Dear Yuletide Author,
Hello, and early seasonal greetings! I’m peevee on AO3 and iampeevee on tumblr, and as a Yuletide n00b, I’m ridiculously excited to be part of this exchange. I hope you find something that inspires you here! Prompts here are suggestions only so if you’ve got something specific you’d like to write then go for it.
Generally:
I’d be delighted with pretty much any pairing or rating you wish to write, and i’m all for any combination of M/F/Gen and ratings from G - NC-17. I generally prefer character-driven over plot-driven fic, and tend to read fic mostly about developing relationships or friendships. That said, I have no doubt that I will love anything you write, and I’d much rather you went where the fic wants to take you rather than trying to adhere to anything too strictly!
I like: unusual kinks, first time fic, trope subversion, drawn-out UST and humour (as dark as you like it). I adore intense friendships (especially when they could be read as leaning towards romantic), friends to more-than-friends, kissing and makeouts in all shapes and forms, fluff tempered by angst and the reverse, bittersweetness, rule 63, fondly celebrating a character’s ridiculousness, and snark.
Porny likes (if that takes your fancy, because yay porn!) include fumbling experimentation, drawn-out fingering, pegging, D/s dynamics when they’re not explicitly negotiated (inc bondage, spanking, painplay etc but not so much the whole leather/toys/formal BDSM aspect), rimming, frottage, anything slow and intense, voyeurism and mild exhibitionism. Characters “accidentally” fucking is pretty much my biggest kink, and by that I mean they don’t intend anything to happen but oops suddenly they’re kissing and hello is that your hand there oh wow and oh look it seems like we’re half naked! PWP is always great, but I do love PAP (Porn AND Plot), or more specifically Plot Driven By Porn (PDBP?).
As for dislikes, there aren’t too many. There are very few situations where i’m willing to read outright non-con, and I dislike it used as a plot point (dubcon is a-okay with me). Other fairly hard nopes are mpreg, major character death, unrelenting angst, pair-the-spares and sickly-sweet romance. Character bashing makes me sad!
His Dark Materials:
Characters requested (Lyra, Will)
I’ve requested Lyra and Will, but I’d be completely happy with a fic focussed on either one of them, as well as the two together. Feel free to include characters I haven’t requested, but I would prefer the main focus to be on Will and/or Lyra. Their relationship for me was so poignant when I read it as a teenager, and any kind of exploration of either their friendship or their love for one another would be amazing. Daemon touching would absolutely be the cherry on the cake. I would prefer no crossovers for this fandom.
Lyra attempts to relearn how to use the Alethiometer and uses it to ask questions about Will. I would love if they somehow managed to communicate with each other, but equally it could be very bittersweet and lovely if they didn’t.
Will discovers a way to use the knife to see Lyra without being able to move into her world.

One additional note: It’s entirely up to you whether you include this detail because it’s just my headcanon, but ever since I read the books and read the description of Will as ‘black hair, straight dark eyebrows, dark eyes’ I’ve imagined him as black/mixed race, maybe kind of like a youngish Sterling Sulieman? We Are The Best:
Characters requested (Any)
There probably aren’t enough words for how much I loved every little thing about this film. The gorgeous depiction of the fluctuating friendship between Bobo, Klara and Hedvig; how very very true to being 13 it is; the alienation they experience both from their peers and from “real” punks, and the way that they do what they want regardless and make it brilliant. It was so joyful, tenderly written and bittersweet.
Anything focussing on the friendship between the three girls would make me very happy, especially Bobo and Klara. Pre-film fic about their friendship would be absolutely adored. How did they get into punk?
I’d like to see how the emergence of Riot Grrl in the 90’s might have influenced them. Maybe Bikini Kill play a gig in Stockholm and an older Bobo and Klara have a chance meeting there. Neither of them are in touch with Hedvig, and they embark on a search to find her and restart the band.
Or we could follow them in the days after the Västerås show, becoming friends with Iron Fist, finding their place in the local punk scene.
If you wanted to go shippy I would be totally down with that in any combination, but gen friendship would be lovely too.
Withnail & I:
Characters requested (Any)
Anything you could write for Withnail would give me joy in my heart: the more shambolic, farcical, and outrageous the better.
I absolutely love Monty, and would like to see him included in some way, especially some of the events of the film from his POV. His thoughts on the epic romance between Withnail and Marwood could be particularly entertaining. I like to think he would return home to his cat and write indulgently filthy porn about them while sipping a Margaux.
Alternatively, I would love a story post-film, maybe following Withnail after Marwood leaves, and the discovery that he misses Marwood more than is reasonably bearable.
This last request is the one that almost has me hiding under a rock but I’m just going to put it out there. I’ve always felt the urge to read an AU of the scene where Monty approaches Marwood in his bedroom: instead of using the excuse that he’s in love with Withnail, Marwood is swayed by a generous offer of money for his ‘services’ and reluctantly lets Monty have his way with him. I’d love it especially if he expects to hate it and really, really doesn’t.

Bring It On:
Characters requested (Missy, Torrance)
What I love most about Bring it On is the unlikely but totally convincing friendship between bad girl Missy and goody-two-shoes Torrance. If that’s not a recipe for UST then I don’t know what is. For me, Cliff always felt like he was tacked on as Torrance’s love interest and I’d love the main focus to be either on the friendship between Missy and Torrance or (and if you want to take it in that direction I would be so very happy) UST between them.
College fic! Torrance goes to college/uni, and travels back home to visit Cliff. Except she doesn’t end up seeing much of Cliff and spends most of her time hanging out with Missy. I would love if this included lots of UST/denial, some first-time-with-a-girl nerves and toppy Missy.

Best Friends Forever fic. Anything about the progression of their friendship through competition highs and lows, shitty boyfriends (shitty girlfriends), college and life and beyond. Missy and Torrance stay friends through it all. Platonic cuddling adored but not required.
Future fic where they meet again, and something is rekindled.
Rush:
Characters requested: (James Hunt, Niki Lauda)
Antagonistic rivals developing into snarky-friends-with-deep-respect-for-each-other? Count me in so very very much. I loved the arrogance in both characters; the way that James is so very much the man with everything and yet being outclassed by ‘The Rat’ manages to drive him absolutely bonkers. I loved the competitiveness between them, and especially the fact that Niki was better and they both knew it. The way that the accident consolidated their friendship and the bond between them is something I’d definitely like to see explored in a fic.
Most of all I think I’ll always be an absolute sucker for the Loud, Handsome and Annoying type paired with the Cool, Calculating Genius.
Over the timeline of the accident, James coping with his feelings of guilt and responsibility for what happened. I’d like to see some kind of communication between them while Niki is in hospital - perhaps within letters as an epistolary fic.
Post-film, and Niki is running Lauda Air. James is a thrill-seeker, and he wants to go for a ride.
If you decide to go for the porn then I’d like to note that the image of James Hunt being spanked over Niki’s knee is very pleasing to me :D
