"Holy Roman Empire" - or "German Empire" ?
The Holy Roman Empire, HRE officially existed from "962" until 1806. Also known as "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation" after "1512".
But it was never HOLY! Why was it called ROMAN? Was it even a real EMPIRE?
Now, what ?
I think the HRE territories could be named as "Teutsches Reich", or "Deutsches Reich" - which means German Empire:
