Aw...Charles Nelson Reilly. *slips you a bowl of rice pudding* Silly goose.

So yeah, the Dream-hooey thing. I checked it out, because who wants to be left standing on the platform waving goodbye as the 21st Century Limited pulls out of the station with all your fun on board? But you know? Hooey.

I'm going to quit paying attention to alternatives.

it's a good backup. They're thinking like real users. They're thinking of fans and what we want. They're not LJ and their questionable decisions.

I felt the same way, you know. But LJ's policies and different crap made me worry lately. Still, I never felt there was a real alternative to LJ. After creating an account on DW I thought... wow. Those guys know what they're doing and this is really the first time after years where I actually consider moving. And with me that's saying something. Trust me.

I think I never notice any policies about LJ - just use it to post stories, etc . . . what kind of crap?

The new owners of Live Journal made it very clear in some statements that "fans" and "fandom" (especially slash lovers) aren't welcome on Live Journal. This is what bugs me most right now, but there were also incidents that showed the general anti-gay attitude, censorship, journals were deleted at a whim (esp. journals of fan artists with slash art), etc etc. I've been one of the "I'm not moving"-league so far, so I'm sure there were people who paid more attention to all the crap that happened. I didn't want to leave my Live Journal, I like that place. But DW is the first alternative I'm seriously considering. It was created by some people who used to work for Live Journal and were fired over some of the issues I mentioned above. It gives you the option to import your stuff from other places, so you don't really lose anything. The only thing that keeps me at LJ right now is my picture gallery.

As the recipient of the above mentioned honeydo message (I laughed, and then thought "I wonder how hard it is to get lipstick off the mirror?" a honeydo is a chore, as in "Honey, do the damn kitty litter...."

I never heard of the term either (until I started getting them.) :)

Ah I see... I was wondering about the drawing of manbreasts on your bathroom mirror - Not that it's my place to comment if that's how you communicate :P

Now all we need to know is if you did the chore!

God, yes. My beloved has less than love in her heart when it comes to the two (adorable, I say, horrible, she says) cats. Apparently, a clean litter box is their only hope of survival.

I'll wait and see. The grass is greener, and all that. I remember the big to-do about insane journal and that other one (I forget the name)... I spent too much time learning LJ, so I'll be here by myself I guess.

Me too. I like my style, icon capacity etc. I don't find that LJ has me in its crosshairs. I did open a DW account, so if push comes to shove, I'll be there, but for now, ho-hum.
